A dtic cash rebate of 35 percent of qualifying South African production spend (plus a possible 5 percent uplift) for South African film and TV productions, capped at R25 million per project. Your production needs at least R1.5 million in qualifying spend (R500,000 for documentaries), and you must apply before any filming starts. Be warned: the programme is formally open but severely backlogged - industry groups report no adjudication meetings since March 2024, so do not budget on this rebate until you hold an approval letter.
